JTK Engineering provided mechanical engineer services for renovating and expanding the Quil Ceda Creek Counseling Clinic. The renovation includes conversion of existing spaces to additional exam rooms, expansion for the lobby and waiting area as well as additional restrooms.
The expansion involved converting existing former manufacturing space into an additional 5000 square feet of space for the clinic. The existing manufacturing systems were demolished to clear out no longer used utilities and equipment to make way for the new clinic HVAC and plumbing systems.
The new spaces created as part of the expansion include:
Admin Offices, Exam Rooms, Conference Rooms, Nurse Station, Storage, Toilet Rooms, Workroom, Reception, Billing, Group Counseling, Staff Lounge, Waiting Areas, and Security office.
The clinic is served by a high efficiency energy recovery outside air unit operating at over 83% sensible recovery. The heating and cooling for the clinic is provided by variable refrigerant heat pumps. The system replaced the over 40 year old gas fired heating system that was serving the building resulting in reduced carbon emissions and improved indoor air quality and comfort.
The existing building plumbing systems were modified and expanded to accommodate the clinic expansion and renovation.
